WHAT IS BREATHWORK
Breathwork gives us permission to release emotions, relieve stress, resolve belief systems, process, and even heal emotional pain or trauma and reclaim your superpower. Each time is something new, it’s like peeling an onion, one layer at a time, one breath at a time. Different from the everyday breath, it’s an active circular breath where there is no pause; one breath leads to the other, known as Conscious Connected Breathing, bridging the gap between the conscious and subconscious. Promoting awareness, self-regulation, and connection.
“The breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness” Buddhist monk Thích Nhất Hạnh

WHAT EQUIPMENT WILL I NEED FOR YOGA?
At the minimum you will need your yoga mat, water bottle, towel, open mind, and a smile. If you have props like yoga blocks/strap/bolsters, you can bring them depending on the class you are taking. If you do not have props you can use what you have around the house, pillows, cushions, towel, scarf, belt, books, water bottle, chair, couch, possibilities are endless.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR YOGA?
Comfortable exercise clothes that work for you. If you have something that wicks or transfer moisture away from our body, great. If you prefer cotton, great. Wear what works for you. Tank tops or T-shirts, Leggings or shorts are the most common choices.
WHAT IS POWER YOGA (YANG ENERGY – BRIGHTER, WARMER, MASCULINE, FLOW)
Fun athletic flow linking movement to breath, connecting to your own power allowing you to move and release freely.
WHAT IS YIN YOGA (YIN ENERGY – DARKER, COOLER, FEMININE, STILLNESS)
Poses are held longer, creating space to come to your edge, find stillness and breathe. Where in a power flow we encage muscle, in Yin there is no muscle engagement. We move slow & slower from pose to pose, allowing for release.
WHAT IS RESTORATIVE YOGA?
Fully supported, allowing the body to release onto its fullest expression of comfort and rest, while obtaining all the benefits of a yoga pose. Inviting comfort and relaxation vs active stretch or engagement.
